What the Drill team offers
Skill Development
- Discipline & Coordination: Cadets learn to master their movements with precision, which builds both physical and mental discipline.
- Teamwork & Leadership: Drill teams operate in tight formations, requiring strong communication and cooperation. Senior cadets often take on leadership roles, enhancing their confidence and supervisory skills.
Performance Opportunities
- Drill teams often perform at Annual Ceremonial Reviews, Remembrance Day ceremonies, and special military events, showcasing their skills to the public.
- Some squadrons also participate in city-wide and regional competitions, adding a competitive edge to the experience.
Specialized Roles
- Advanced drill teams may include Honour Guards, Rifle Drill Teams, and Flag Parties, which involve more complex routines and ceremonial responsibilities.
Summer Training
- Cadets interested in drill can apply for Drill and Ceremonial summer training courses, which prepare them to teach drill to others and deepen their expertise.
Personal Growth
- Being part of a drill team helps cadets develop assertiveness, public speaking, and attention to detail, all of which are valuable in both military and civilian life.
